This idea started with my nana.

She drove well into her 80s. Like a lot of older drivers, she became a little slower over time, more cautious at intersections, a bit gentler on the road. She was still capable, still independent, and driving meant freedom for her.

What always stuck with me is the thought that she might have been rushed, honked at, or made to feel like she didn’t belong on the road anymore. I hate the idea that someone like her or anyone’s nana, parent, or grandparent could be made to feel uncomfortable just for taking their time.

The S Sticker was created as a simple, voluntary way to encourage a little more patience and understanding. It’s not official and it’s not about labels or rules. It’s just a small signal that says: please be patient.

If it helps people feel more confident behind the wheel, or reminds another driver to slow down and show courtesy, then it’s doing what it was made for.
